Web series I’m scoring: DORALEOUS AND ASSOCIATES

There’s actually what the more conservative would call “pervasive language” when it comes to the “light profanity” - the words used are the more “tame” ones but there are probably more than some here might be comfortable with.

That out of the way -

Rockin’, d00d!

The music is really, really well-done - that is, I didn’t notice it at all!

The story is kind of fun… mishmash adventurers are a staple of intert00b humor, and they pull it off well.

But all you care about is the music, and the music is really, really, well-done (to ditto myself!)

Congrats!

Cheers,
Calix

(...I’m playing the video again as I type to just “listen” to the music…)

Alex,

Great music! Very appropriate! Very authentic…epic, in a “tongue in cheek” sort of way. Reminds me of Hummie Mann’s “Robin Hood:Men in Tights”.
Great Job!

Thanks, Calix and John!

It’s a fun show to score.

I did that first episode in about a day (not counting the title theme) ... these things go by fast!

Cool stuff!  I already told you in the email, but just figured I’d cross-post it.  The music was great, the story was well-done (can anyone say, Story Circle?), and the jokes were funny!

“Cross-posting” is fine with me in this regard! wink

Yeah, these guys are funny. They’ve filled me in on story ideas for the next half-dozen episodes or so (so I can score/foreshadow appropriately), and I’ve just been cracking up over the phone as I listen ... LOL

They definitely have a good sense of screen humor, and I really like how the characters interact (or don’t). 8)

Oh yeah, for anyone who’s interested, I actually got this job because they heard my score to Swacked 5 and loved it. :D

(My friend Joe, who does Swacked, is friends with the guys from Hank and Jed Productions, who, of course, do Doraleous and Associates ... so you never know who will hear what, I guess! 8) )

The initial response to this series has been very favorable ... it’s been a pretty big hit at The Escapist, and apparently a huge crowd hangs out there. Statbrain.com says that it has about 141,000 visits a day. Some other statistics web site said that it’s in the top 2,000 web sites visited in the USA.

The thread for the pilot, as of this moment, has about 5,500 views and 300 responses. smile

(The thread over there, not this one, obviously ...)

The show seems to be a hit with the Escapist crowd (the target audience)!

So far the thread is 6,400+ views and 330+ responses, most of which were favorable. And those are just the ones that have bothered to hang out in the thread for the pilot and respond. There are something like 4 million (!) subscribers there.

Episode 2 gets released tomorrow! 8)

I’m scoring episode 4 right now, and it’s hilarious.

(Well, technically, I will be in a couple days, as I’m working on some songs for a musical right now that I didn’t know were due in February (i.e. Sunday), and the moment I finish with that, I’m churning out more ABC Sonnets music and doing episode 4, but that’s the long version ...)
