define cheep. Also, what king of medieval? Do they have to be metal?
i need three so probably under 30 bucks. (each)
no they do not have to be metal as long as they look real.
its for a fantasy so i’ll take pretty much any kind.

You can sometimes find pleather or thiner leather for cheep, but leather helms are nor historically accurate in any era of history. But are used in lots of fantasy, and use in Pendragon.
(Send Gabriel Everson a message and ask him if he doesn’t post soon)

Not sure if that’s big enough to wear or not.
Check Amazon.com. They have some nice-looking helms for around $30 - $40.
thanks Katherine, i’v been looking on amazon and ebay. that one looks a little to cheesy.
i’d like to know if Gabriel Everson has any ideas???
Well I must say that I haven’t made helmets yet…
I have considered casting some out of hot glue.

With this technique you could probably buy one, more expensive helmet and use it as a master for a mold then make several more for around $15 worth of hot glue apiece. (that is a rough guess…)
thats a good idea!
I have often see 22gage galvanized sheet metal 4’x4’ for about $20-$30 in Canadian Tire up here and thought that it would work pretty well for movie armor. It could be cut with aviation snips easily worked by hand and a light hammer to role the edges.
well the charitors needing helmets have been changed, don’t need helmets anymore.
22 gauge is nasty don’t even bother. It crinkles up and doesn’t shape as easily as 18 gauge cold rolled does (I haven’t made a helmet but I did try with some 22.) besides, it’s quite sharp.
