Hello All,

So, I have not been posting here lately simply because I really haven’t had a lot to post about. However…now I do. smile (that sounds incredibly self-centered…sorry)

I am interested in starting an audio drama podcast with a few friends, however I am having a really hard time getting it off the ground (actually it’s not even on the ground yet). I would like it to have a lot of humor…but still be fulfilling, have a message of some sort and not be a total waste of time!

I’ve thought of a few ideas, but it’s hard to come up with anything original when all the good things have already been done (e.g. Adventures in Odyssey)! :D So I was wondering if anybody had any ideas. I know this sort of thing doesn’t usually work—when you ask people to give you ideas for a show—but I thought maybe if I could brainstorm about it with some other like-minded media producers I might be able to come upon something of value. I’d appreciate all the help you can give (wait…that didn’t sound right…whatever). smile

BTW if anybody feels like emailing me about this or is interested in helping technically-wise once it starts happening my email is .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) .

Thanks,
Loren

not really sure where to put this ...so if this is the wrong spot feel free to move it, mods.

Do a show on everyday people, modern heros. In your community and bring the community together by it.

Actually I was thinking of more of an audio drama…not necessarily a Human interest podcast. Since my friends live in different states it would be kinda hard to implement your idea. Also my friends and I are all very much into voice acting…so we would love to do a podcast where we could exercise this interest.

But…thanks for the idea! It’s a great idea, just wouldn’t necessarily work for us.

Why not start with some book dramatizations. Or maybe some Shakespeare plays re-done in a humorous short style.
Maybe after doing a few shows you’ll be inspired with something original.

Book dramatizations!!!!!

If you can do them like FOFRT, of course. smile With vocal foley and sound fx and all that kind of cool stuff…

Also, if you ask on the screenwriter forum, you never know if someone might offer to write some scripts for credit…

(not me, not right now…)

Loren,

Why don’t you go research some lesser-known historical heroes? There have been a select few Odyssey shows that did this, but never enough for my liking. There are so many unsung American heroes that really ought to be better-known.

Oh sorry about that!   Yeah, what the other guys have said.  Also, I may have a little medieval short story that I might be able to give you to make an audio drama from.  Complete with dragon!  wink
