Hey, not bad. What’s your current setup like?

And FWIW, almost every electronic of any value that I buy is refurbished.  smile

It’ll be a definite improvement. My current system’s an Athlon II dual core, 4GB DDR2 RAM (maxed out, micro ATX MB, 32-bit CPU), 40GB hard drive, XP home. It’s a build I did a few years back, I’m selling it to my Dad for $275.  cheese

Oh good! Glad to know other people buy refurbs. :D Had any trouble with anything? All I know is that extra $130 off really appealed to me.  wink

Next thing to upgrade is me monitor…. getting tired of this 4:3 16 in.  tongue laugh

It is out of stock now, but it was not 2 weeks ago.  It might be a little different…

I am running Vegas on my 64bit XP Pro. But I don’t remember if I had to copy and paste all the files into a duplicate path to get it to run…

...yeah, I think it didn’t want to install everything so I went in and copied the Sony folder and pasted it from my 32bit computer to the 64bit computer in a folder/path that was the same. Then it would run fine.  hmmm

Ah… just so long as there are ways around it.  cheese

I was debating whether to stick with XP… but then figured I’d have to learn 7 sooner or later, we’ll see if I made a good choice or not. I keep hearing good and bad things about it. Not to mention XP’s getting harder and harder to find.

It may be king, but king’s meals are elegant and costly.

Well, my HP refurbished monitor went bad…but maybe that’s just because it was an HP.  tongue wink My refurbished computer is running fine, though…I’ve had it for 2 years.

Actually, NewEgg isn’t all that costly when compared to other websites…

Haha, HP monitors actually seem to get pretty good reviews (I’m a lover of reviews) but I’d still tend to trust Samsung or Toshiba more. I had an HP PC awhile back and was really impressed with it, never had a single problem with the thing. So I’m hoping my new PC is a repeat experience.  cheese I’ve owned KDS monitors since I was first computing and they’ve always been good to me… but I think they’ve gone out of business ‘cause I can’t find them anymore!

Newegg has super good prices, and even better service. I recommend them to everybody. TigerDirect (clone of CompUSA) is also a pretty good electronics outlet, but Newegg has earned my trust.
