Hey, all. I’m new. I found this place through a message my Mom got on a homeschool e-mail group.
I haven’t done much to my profile yet, but you can get a fair idea of my tastes, preferences, et cetera, in my profile. I am an aspiring composer—I have not completed any works yet, but I have some ideas I have written sketches for and am working on developing into pieces, and I am looking at going for a BM in Composition next year to further my musical vocabulary and technical ability.
I’m pretty busy at this point in my life, between school, work, church, and practicing my intrument(s) (upright bass being the focus right now, playing electric bass in church, and working up the piano, which is one of my real instrumental passions), so it’s been difficult to find time for creative outletting. One of the things I’ve done in spare time is editing music and some video. I tried to make one edit, but for some reason the quality didn’t come out well at all, so I’ve kind of toyed with it.
I have a lot of ideas that I hope to see come to fruition. I find it troublesome that, twistedly, most of the good art comes from outside Christian circles—at least on a large scale. My perspective is to glorify God not only in the message and worldview of my art, but also in the quality of it. I’m excited at the prospect of conversing with, and hopefully collaborating with, fellow believers who share a similar goal and vision.
I look forward to reading, posting, and creating in the future.
